Layna's Big Girl Room

The move and transition into our new HOME has been a pretty good one. Layna adjusted really well to having her own room and sleeping by herself. However, being sick for the past week has made her sleeping habits change. Layna can easily open her bedroom door, especially when she doesn't want to take her nap or go to bed, so Mommy put a gate on the inside of her door so she can't get to it. We have found Layna asleep at the gate, when we would check on her before heading to bed for the night. We have also tried to enforce some disciplin into Layna's life. We got her this cute little plush elephant chair for Christmas that we end up using for punishment spot... or Time Out chair. She does pretty well with being on time out.

Layna is continuing to learn rapidly ! Everyday she surprises me with about two - five new words ! Early intervent definitely helped Layna with catching up with her speech, and now she is doing amazing ! She might not say the words clearly, but it is clear enough that I know what she is saying. We are also working on her alphabet and numbers, which is getting there slowly. I try to work on them as often as I can whether it is in the morning before work, during my breaks, or in the evenings. Layna still loves to write and draw ! I say write because she will have her paper and pen/pencil or her water drawing table thing, and will do these tiny little scribbles as if she were writing. And sometimes she actually "says" the alphabet.... "A.....a.......a...."  hahaha
